Protein Discovery03

Biomarker research Click for overview

Translational proteomics specialists:     Biomarker discovery, validation and molecular characterisation using affinity based purification coupled to mass spectrometry.

Innovation: Photeomix is actively engaged in the research for new biomarkers for the diagnosis, prognosis and stratification of human and animal diseases. We are developing new disease-specific tools for protein profiling by MALDItof & SELDItof MS. Our research is also focused on gaining a better understanding of the molecular basis of disease. We aim to provide new clinical drug targets and drug treatment strategies in medical areas that currently are poorly understood.

Priority disease focus:

  • Obesity
  • Diabetes
  • Nutrition
  • Cardiovasular disease
  • Blood disorders

Other disease areas:

  • Neurological disease
  • Cancer
  • Infectious diseases

Custom Research

In addition to ongoing research contracts and R&D collaborations,  we offer a comprehensive range  of  modular proteomics services.

We can engage in a variety of sample work-up (reduction in complexity) procedures; all requests will be considered. We will contribute our expertise in this area to finalise your translational proteomics research project based on the requirements you supply us with.

A panel of generic services is offered to get you started. You may be looking for something more specialised arising from the specific needs of your personal project. A new affinity column, different fractionation conditions, protein-protein characterisation, protein-DNA characterisation.............we can help accelerate your research. Contact us directly for details.

Photeomix research services are offered on a fee-for-service basis.

Strategic alliances

Alternative strategic alliances on our priority disease focus areas are also considered under an appropriate two-way confidentiality agreement. These may range between:

  • quick look’ short-term projects - the basis of future collaborations - or
  • detailed collaborative projects - applying our translational proteomics knowledge to projects of significant medical interest where good quality clinical/ biological samples are available.

If you have a project and you would like to join us in a combined project, we invite you to contact us directly for further details : contact@photeomix.com
